According to The Inquirer, this is the third time this year investigators have found problems at St. Christopher’s. The other issues include the hospital not investigating why nine patients died after heart surgery and a medication error case in which a patient received 10 times the correct dose of chemotherapy.
A hospital spokeswoman told The Inquirer via email the hospital is developing a “comprehensive plan of correction.” St. Christopher’s will submit the plan by Dec. 21.
“We take these findings very seriously and are committed to taking all actions necessary to correct them,” the spokeswoman told The Inquirer.
St. Christopher’s did not immediately respond to Becker’s request for a comment.
St. Christopher’s is owned by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.
