In a survey conducted from Nov. 23 to Nov. 24, 37 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 said they weren’t familiar with the healthcare reform law. Those aged 50 to 64 were the most informed, with only 22 percent reporting they are not familiar with the law, according to Gallup.
Overall, the portion of Americans who say they are familiar with the PPACA has increased slightly since last summer, climbing from 68 percent in August to 72 percent in the latest poll. Additionally, Gallup found those who are familiar with the law are more likely to oppose it. Of those who said they’re familiar with the law, 59 percent said they disapprove of it, compared with 43 percent of those who indicated they’re unfamiliar with it.
