Chief of Hawaii PPACA Exchange to Resign

Coral Andrews, executive director of Hawaii's health insurance exchange, will resign effective Dec. 6.

The reason for Ms. Andrews' resignation was not disclosed. Tom Matsuda — the current Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act implementation manager with the governor's office — will replace her as interim executive director starting Dec. 9, according to a news release. The Hawaii Health Connector board of directors has begun a search for a permanent replacement.

"I am honored to have been a part of implementing part of the Affordable Care Act for the people of Hawaii," Ms. Andrews said in the release. "The Hawaii Health Connector has some of the most dedicated people I have ever had the honor of working with. Hawaii is in good hands with this talented group as they continue the mission of delivering access to health care for all Hawaii residents."
