The robbery occurred Saturday night about one-quarter mile north of the hospital. Police were told that three men broke into an apartment, held two victims at gunpoint, assaulted them and stole some property, according to the report.
The men later got out of their car, police said, according to the report, and started firing at the apartment — and one of the victims returned fire. After that, the suspects ran toward the hospital, and a police foot chase ensued.
Two of the suspects — Amont Williams, 17, and Dominique Jones, 18 — were arrested by police on hospital property, according to the report. They were charged with armed robbery, first degree burglary, second degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
Wake Forest Baptist was temporarily locked down as police tried unsuccessfully to find the third suspect, according to the report.
