Joe Kiani. Founder of the Patient Safety Movement Foundation. Mr. Kiani founded PSMF in 2013 for the purpose of eliminating preventable patient deaths by 2020. Mr. Kiani has been lauded with numerous awards throughout his career, including a SafeCare Person of the Year Award in 2015 for his significant contributions to the improvement of patient safety and healthcare quality. Mr. Kiani founded Masimo Corp., a global medical technology innovator, in 1989 to improve the accuracy of noninvasive patient monitoring. The company now employs more than 3,000 people around the world and has continuously introduced new, noninvasive patient monitoring technologies to the medical community.
