An SSM Health spokesperson told Becker’s an isolated incident occurred in the hospital’s emergency department and that there is no ongoing risk to safety. All appropriate medical care was provided immediately following the incident, the spokesperson said.
“We remain focused on providing the necessary medical, mental health and pastoral support in the wake of this event,” the spokesperson said. “We are deeply grateful for the swift response of our hospital security team and law enforcement partners.”
SSM said safety protocols were activated without delay, the situation was contained and secured, and hospital security and law enforcement responded promptly.
