Patient Safety Movement Founder: Transparency is the Most Important Thing for Safety Progress

Transparency in quality of care is the most important consideration when preventing patient harms, according to Patient Safety Movement Foundation founder Joe Kianai, who was interviewed by Forbes.

In the interview, Mr. Kiani discussed the failure of interoperability, integration of clinical systems, standardization of health IT systems and the future of patient safety.

Investing in transparency in all aspects of healthcare could both help fix misaligned incentives leading to safety risks and educate providers on hazards to patients, according to Mr. Kiani.
