Ohio Hospital Association launches patient tracking system for mass casualty incidents, disasters

Every hospital and response agency in Ohio now has access to OHTrac, a web-based patient tracking database, when responding to a mass casualty incident or disaster situation.

The Ohio Hospital Association lead the launch of this system, but the coordination efforts behind OHTrac included representatives from The Center for Health Affairs' Emergency Preparedness team, local hospitals and hospital coordinators, the Ohio Department of Health, Ohio's Homeland Security Program, the American Red Cross and Ohio's Emergency Medical Services.

"OHTrac is a unique database that aides in response and family reunification by streamlining important information during a disaster situation," said Andrea Bishop, The Center for Health Affairs' emergency preparedness project manager. "Being part of its creation is incredibly rewarding."
