North Dakota flu cases double from this time last season

North Dakota has reported twice the number of influenza cases this season compared to the same time last season.

The state health department said1,989 flu cases have been reported to the department in the 2019-20 season, compared to 750 at this time last year.

Only 47 percent of kids in North Dakota between the ages of 6 months and 4 years are vaccinated. The department is urging everyone older than 6 months to get vaccinated.

This season, the flu has sickened about 6.4 million people and killed 2,900 nationwide.
