Missouri reports first flu deaths

The Missouri Department of Health and Human Services confirmed the first three flu-related deaths of the 2019-20 season Dec. 10.

The deaths were reported in the week ending Nov. 30. Health officials did not disclose the patients’ ages or genders.

As of Nov. 30, more than 1,500 flu cases have occurred in Missouri this season. About one-third of cases involved individuals ages 5-24.
