Measles case confirmed at Massachusetts hospital

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirmed a measles case diagnosed at Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Aug. 20.

The patient was in Lahey Hospital’s emergency room from the afternoon of Aug. 20 to the night of Aug. 21.

The patient reported being at several other locations during an infectious period, including a pool, airport and library.

Lahey Hospital is reaching out to individuals at high risk of exposure and cooperating with the health department and local health authorities to ensure all exposed individuals have this information.
