The new board members are:
- Janet Lucas-Taylor, senior director of employee benefits at Northwestern Mutual
- Susan Sheridan, founding member of Patients for Patient Safety
- Karen van Caulil, PhD, president and CEO of the Florida Alliance for Healthcare Value
The leaders have been a part of the organization for years, the national patient safety watchdog group said. Their board appointments come as Leapfrog plans to launch a number of niche hospital recognition programs for hospitals. In August, the group launched a recognition program for facilities and systems that exhibit a commitment to the care and safety of inpatients with diabetes.
