The AMA conducted the survey from June 3-8, polling 150 primary care providers and 151 specialists in the U.S.
Four findings:
1. Among the 4 percent of physicians who were not vaccinated, the most common reason for not getting the shot was that it’s too new and its long-term effects are unknown.
2. Physicians’ vaccination rates did not vary significantly based on gender, geographic location or age.
3. Hispanic physicians (84 percent) were less likely to be fully vaccinated compared to non-Hispanic peers (97 percent).
4. There was no significant difference in vaccination rates for white, Black and Asian physicians.
