KershawHealth adds general surgery department

Camden, S.C.-based KershawHealth has added a two-physician general surgery department after integrating the practices of two physicians, according to a Chronicle Independent report.

The two physicians are Paul Christenberry, MD, and Ed Gill, MD. Dr. Christenberry was previously with Camden-based Sentinel Health Partners and Dr. Gill had a solo practice, according to the report. The new practice is called KershawHealth Surgical Associates.

“Establishing this two-physician practice is a major step forward to ensure the continuation of strong general surgery services for our community,” Terry Gunn, the system’s interim CEO, said in the report.
