Under the affiliation, MD Anderson’s best practices and protocols will be implemented at Piedmont Atlanta and Piedmont Fayette (Ga.) hospitals. Furthermore, Stockbridge, Ga.-based Piedmont Henry and Piedmont Newnan (Ga.) hospitals are also expected to become MD Anderson Cancer Network certified members in the future.

The collaboration provides evidence-based, disease-specific guidelines for cancer treatment, prevention, early detection and follow-up care developed by a national leader in cancer care,” Perry Ballard, MD, oncologist at Atlanta-based Peachtree Hematology and Oncology of Piedmont Healthcare, said in a release.
