The proposed budget includes $36 million — up from the governor’s proposed $19.2 million — for the project, which is a partnership between Indiana University School of Medicine, University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana and Ivy Tech Community College.

The state would fund $32 million for the public schools and the private University of Evansville would provide the remaining $4 million under the proposed plan, according to the report.

The schools originally asked for almost $50 million in funding.
