HHS Announces Prospective Awardees of Health Care Innovation Program Round 2

HHS announced new prospective awardees to test innovative care models, bringing the total amount of funding to as much as $360 million for 39 recipients.

The care models are designed to deliver better healthcare and lower costs under the Health Care Innovation Awards program.

The prospective — not yet final — awards range from an expected $2 million to $23.8 million over a three-year period. The awards were made possible by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This is round two of the program, and in 2012, 107 organizations located in urban and rural areas received awards through round one.
