HealthTrust awards Boston Medical Center innovation grant

Brentwood, TN-based HealthTrust announced in a press release that Boston Medical Center received the HealthTrust 2015 Innovative Grant.

The $50,000 award provides $25,000 to the medical center and $25,000 in HealthTrust service line expertise.

HealthTrust selected Boston Medical Center due to its innovative idea to create a system that anesthesiologists and surgeons can use to determine when cardiac implanted electronic devices need to be reprogrammed.

Chief Medical Officer HealthTrust, Michael Schlosser MD, stated in the press release why Boston Medical Center was chose.

“From a worthy pool of applicants for this year’s grant, Boston Medical Center’s submission was a standout with its plans to cultivate best practices for device management that improve operational efficiencies, reduce errors, improve patient outcomes and increase patient and clinician satisfaction,” said Schlosser.

Boston Medical Center will use the grant money to help offset the program’s pilot costs.
