To date, the FDA has identified more than 40 patients who received infusions of the Wallcur simulated saline products after an alert was issued in early January. Many patients have reported experiencing fever, chills, tremors and headaches.
Since beginning the investigation, the FDA has reached out to other companies that market simulated products for training purposes to make them aware of this incident and ensure steps were taken to remedy any potentially confusing situations between training products and real drugs.
