CareFusion Foundation Awards $500k to 11 Organizations for Medication Safety Programs

The CareFusion Foundation has awarded $500,000 in grant funding to 11 nonprofit healthcare organizations in the United States.

The funding was awarded as part of the foundation’s second annual Clinical Excellence Grant Program. The organizations received the funding for programs that develop and share best practices for improving medication safety and efficiency.

The recipients of the grants are:

•    Boston Medical Center
•    Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
•    Hartford (Conn.) Hospital
•    Hektoen Institute in Chicago
•    Lifespan Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I.
•    MedStar Health in Baltimore
•    Mountain States Health Alliance in Johnson City, Tenn.
•    Palomar Health in Escondido, Calif.
•    Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J.
•    Southwestern Vermont Health in Bennington, Vt.
•    University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C.
