The Patient Safety Movement Foundation designed the curriculum, which educates students in patient safety and error prevention before they begin working. The curriculum addresses issues related to technology, healthcare systems, teamwork and communication, among other subjects, to promote a culture of safety.
“In many ways, nursing is ahead of the game compared to some of the other professions because we have already invested in quality and safety,” said Philip Greiner, DNSc, RN, the school’s director. “This takes it to another level.”
