The agency performed a comprehensive review of more than 450 research articles to assess communication strategies, dissemination of information and communication of uncertainty among clinicians.
While there appear to be several methods that show promise, insufficient evidence, single trials and lack of comparative baselines hinder communication analysis, according to the report. More of an effort to create comparable studies is needed to identify optimal communication strategies, the report concludes.
