Hospital Compare Adds C. diff, MRSA Data

CMS’s Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program has added quality reporting data on Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Clostridium difficile infections to Hospital Compare.

The measures were developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through the National Healthcare Safety Network and represent infection rates for hospital-onset infections only.

The current data is from the first quarter of 2013; an update scheduled for April 2014 will add three more months of data, according to a news release.
