1 dead, 8 hospitalized from salmonella outbreak linked to ground beef

Ten salmonella cases have been confirmed so far in an outbreak linked to ground beef, with eight hospitalizations and one death reported Nov. 1 by the CDC

California, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas have reported cases of Salmonella Dublin, with one death in California. Illnesses have been more severe than expected for Salmonella. 

The suspected source of the outbreak is ground beef but a single, common supplier of the meat is still unknown. Those sickened have reported consuming different types and brands of ground beef purchased from various locations.
