New York City residents who receive a COVID-19 booster by the end of the year will receive $100, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Dec. 21.

The cash incentive will be available for anyone who goes to a city-run vaccination site or Somos care site through Dec. 31. Somos, a network of more than 2,500 physicians, is partnering with New York City to help administer COVID-19 vaccines.

Mr. de Blasio said the effort represents the largest booster incentive program in the U.S.

“It’s going to make you feel a lot safer, a lot better that you got the booster, and you’ll have some more cash in your pocket at the same time,” he said during a Dec. 21 media briefing.
