The Minnesota Department of Health said it opposes Nobis Rehabilitation's plan for a for-profit rehabilitation hospital in Rosewell, citing concerns over allowing more for-profit providers in the state, the Star Tribune reported Feb. 29.

Robust in-home care, advances in technology and seamless access to nursing facilities are some of the ways leaders anticipate post-acute care may change in the next 50 years.

Nursing homes have increased the number of agency nurses providing direct care nursing hours in the last five years and in one state, 86% of nursing homes were using agency staff in 2022.
