Best workplaces for senior care, housing

Fortune has released its second annual Best Workplaces in Aging Services list honoring senior caregiving companies that foster a great culture.

For its list, Fortune partnered with Great Places to Work to survey 223,182 employees working in senior housing and care as well as at-home care in the aging services industry. The survey consisted of 60 questions describing the extent to which the company creates an optimal work environment. 

The top 10 companies for at-home senior care:

  1. Care To Stay Home (Santa Ana, Calif.)
  2. Senior Helpers Holdings (Towson, Md.)
  3. Assistance Home Care (St. Charles, Mo.)
  4. 24 Hour Home Care (El Segundo, Calif.)
  5. Cherished Companions Home Care (Chagrin Falls, Ohio)
  6. Care Indeed (Menlo Park, Calif.)
  7. Sheridan In-Home Care (Culver City, Calif.)
  8. Compass Care (Stamford, Conn.)
  9. Grandcare Health Services (Pasadena, Calif.)
  10. Integrity Home Care + Hospice (Springfield, Mo.)

The top 10 large senior housing and care companies:

  1. Brightview Senior Living (Baltimore)
  2. Citadel Healthcare (Morton Grove, Ill.)
  3. Signature HealthCARE (Louisville, Ky.)
  4. Trilogy Health Services (Louisville, Ky.)
  5. Vi (Chicago)
  6. Wesley Enhanced Living (Warminister, Pa.)
  7. American Medical Facilities Management (Charleston, W. Va.)
  8. Merrill Gardens (Seattle)
  9. Generations Healthcare (Santa Ana, Calif.)
  10. Senior Star (Tulsa, Okla.)

The top 10 for small and medium senior housing and care companies:

  1. Embrace Living Communities (Oak Brook, Ill.)
