10 most, least stressed cities in America

Residents of Detroit have the highest stress of any city in the U.S., according to an analysis by WalletHub.

To determine the cities' stress level, WalletHub analysts compared 182 cities, including the 150 most populated cities, across four key dimensions: work stress, financial stress, family stress, and health and safety stress. Analysts evaluated those four dimensions using 37 relevant metrics.

Here are the most stressed cities based on the analysis:

1. Detroit

2. Newark, N.J.

3. Cleveland

4. Birmingham, Ala.

5. Toledo, Ohio

6. Baltimore

7. Wilmington, Del.

8. Milwaukee

9. Gulfport, Miss.

10. St. Louis

Here are the least stressed cities based on the analysis:

1. Fremont, Calif.

2. Bismarck, N.D.

3. Sioux Falls, S.D.

4. Overland Park, Kan.

5. South Burlington, Vt.

6. Scottsdale, Ariz.

7. Irvine, Calif.

8. San Jose, Calif.

9. Madison, Wis.

10. Lincoln, Neb.
