Vigil held outside Eli Lilly headquarters to demand lower insulin costs

A vigil was held outside Eli Lilly’s headquarters in Indianapolis Sept. 14 for people who have died from rationing their insulin, according to RTV6 Indianapolis.

Type 1 diabetes advocacy group, T1 International, organized the rally, where people called on pharmaceutical companies like Eli Lilly to make insulin and other life-saving drugs more affordable.

One in four people with diabetes rations insulin because they can’t afford it, according to a study published in JAMA conducted by researchers from New Haven, Conn.-based Yale University
