Nashville, TN and San Francisco, CA — September 22, 2025 — Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) has selected Latent, an AI-enabled medication access platform, to support specialty and infusion prior authorization workflows. The effort is designed to streamline administrative processes and create efficiencies in pharmacy operations.
Latent’s platform uses large language models to analyze the patient chart and surface the clinical information required for prior authorization, reducing review and submission cycles from hours to minutes. The system is designed to improve first-pass approvals and shorten time to therapy. It integrates with Epic and related operational tools to support clinic, pharmacy, and infusion teams.
“This initiative reflects our vision for medication access technology—fast, reliable, and deeply integrated in the health system environment,” said Sri Somasundaram, Co-Founder of Latent. “By reducing administrative bottlenecks in specialty and infusion, we can enable staff to focus more on patient care and extend support to adherence and the broader care journey.”
