A bill under consideration in the state legislature would ban the sale of tobacco products in all pharmacies across the state, including all supermarkets and retailers with pharmacies inside.

The bill also specifies that electronic smoking devices would be banned, but that pharmacies and businesses with licenses to dispense medical cannabis would still be allowed to sell those products.

The New Jersey Senate’s Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens committee approved the bill on Sept. 10. It still needs to be passed by the New Jersey Senate and Assembly and signed by Gov. Phil Murphy before it becomes law.
