Six drugs or medical devices approved by the FDA since Aug. 2:

1. Inrebic is a once-daily oral capsule for the treatment of myelofibrosis, a rare bone marrow disorder that disrupts the normal production of blood cells.

2. Barostim New System, a device to improve symptoms such as fatigue and swelling in patients with advanced heart failure.

3. Rozlytrek is a personalized cancer treatment that targets tumors with specific genetic defects called NTRK gene fusions. The treatment works regardless of where the tumor started in the body.

4. Pretomanid is an oral antibiotic tablet for highly drug-resistant forms of tuberculosis of the lungs.

5. Turalio, the first therapy for adult patients with symptomatic tenosynovial giant cell tumors that didn't respond to surgery. The tumors, which are nonmalignant, affect the joints and cause severe morbidity.

6. The Tether Vertebral Body Tethering System is a device to treat pediatric patients with progressive idiopathic scoliosis that has not responded to treatment options such as external bracing.
