Shoppers to close 30 pharmacies, sell prescription files to CVS, Walgreens

Shoppers Food and Pharmacy will close all 30 of its pharmacy locations in the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore area in the next few weeks, according to NBC Washington.

The pharmacy inventory and prescription files from the 30 locations will be sold to Walgreens and CVS Health.

The pharmacies will close between April 24 and May 7.

“The pharmacies will close to the general public through staggered closings to the new owners beginning Wednesday, April 24. We appreciate and thank our pharmacy customers and invite them to continue shopping at all our Shoppers locations for their grocery needs,” United National Foods, Shopper’s owner, told NBC.
