The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America has named Eric Cantor its next president and CEO, effective Nov. 9.
Mr. Cantor will succeed Stephen Ubl, who has led PhRMA since 2015, according to a Sept. 29 news release. Mr. Ubl will continue to serve as a strategic adviser.
Mr. Cantor represented Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2014 and served as House majority leader from 2011 to 2014. Since leaving Congress, Mr. Cantor has served as vice chairman and managing director at Moelis & Company and as a member of its board of directors. He will continue serving on the board while leading PhRMA.
