The recall affects one lot of Ortho-Novum 1/35 and two lots of Ortho-Novum 7/7/7.
Appropriate instructions on how to use the dispenser pack were omitted, which could cause the patient to take the pills in the incorrect order or take an inactive “reminder” pill instead of an active version. Incorrectly taking the pills could lead to “breakthrough bleeding or an unintended pregnancy,” the recall notice states.
The recall only affects the three lots of Ortho-Novum products distributed in the U.S.
