The Germany-based pharmaceutical company is facing more than 18,000 lawsuits linked to its Roundup herbicide, acquired in 2018 when it bought chemical giant Monsanto.
While Bayer has proposed $6 billion to $8 billion to resolve the lawsuits, plaintiffs’ lawyers want more than $10 billion, according to the report.
Negotiations have advanced to the point that lawyers for the plaintiffs and Bayer have asked two judges in St. Louis to postpone a trial that is set to begin this month.
