Anil Kumar, PharmD, a long-term professor who previously chaired the pharmacy school’s division of pharmacology, was let go after “a rigorous process” and recommendation by a 10-member faculty committee.

Dr. Mitra, accused of exploiting graduate students in his lab, was sued by the university for allegedly stealing and selling student research to a drugmaker and defrauding the university of millions of dollars. He was immediately suspended by the university and left in March.
