Three things to know:
1. Under the bill, thousands of “able-bodied” Medicaid recipients would be required to spend at least 20 hours each week working a part-time job, volunteering, participating in job training, attending school or attending a substance misuse rehabilitation program.
2. The requirement is projected to affect 2,000 to 3,000 of Wyoming’s 60,000 Medicaid recipients, state Rep. Scott Clem, R-Gillette, said, according to the report.
3. The bill faces two more votes before it would move to Republican Gov. Mark Gordon for a signature. Nine other states have approved Medicaid work requirements.
