Here are 15 updates on insurers leaving, entering or remaining in the 2018 ACA exchanges.
Note: These are preliminary filings. Insurers have until Sept. 27 to send final agreements and confirmed plan lists to CMS.
1. Indianapolis-based Anthem said it will pull out of the ACA exchanges in Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin for 2018. The payer intends to offer individual ACA policies on Missouri's exchange for next year, according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
2. New York City-based startup Oscar Health will extend its ACA exchange presence in Ohio, Texas, New Jersey, Tennessee and California for 2018.
3. Louisville, Ky.-based Humana plans to no longer provide individual products through ACA exchanges, effective Jan. 1, 2018.
4. Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna pulled out of the 2018 exchange in Maryland, Baltimore Business Journal reports.
5. St. Louis-based Centene Corp. will offer health plans on ACA exchanges in Kansas, Missouri and Nevada in 2018, and will expand its exchange presence in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Texas and Washington state.
6. After much speculation, no Colorado insurers are anticipated to leave the state's exchange next year.
7. Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna declared its exit from the 2018 exchanges in Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska and Virginia in 2018, marking the insurer's full exit from the individual marketplace. However, Aetna may offer individual plans on Nevada's 2018 ACA exchange.
8. Minnetonka, Minn.-based Medica said it would sell plans on exchanges in Iowa and Nebraska next year.
9. Chicago-based BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, the state's largest insurer, is preparing to return to the ACA exchange in 2018.
10. Tulsa-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma, the only payer still participating on the state's ACA exchange, said it will file individual products and rates for Oklahoma's 2018 exchange.
11. Phoenix-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and Centene's Ambetter arm filed plans with the Arizona Department of Insurance to participate on the state's 2018 ACA exchange.
12. Jacksonville-based Florida Blue intends to offer individual policies on the state's ACA exchange in all 67 counties next year.
13. Omaha-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska will ditch its final two ACA-compliant individual health plans in 2018.
14. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Mo.) will not sell individual ACA health plans in the payer's 32-county service area in Missouri and Kansas for 2018.
15. Des Moines, Iowa-based Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield will leave Iowa's ACA health insurance exchange, effective Jan. 1, 2018.
