UnitedHealthcare is the largest investor in a future 60-unit affordable housing complex in Milwaukee, dubbed SEVEN04 Place.
The insurer is providing $6.3 million in equity through a low-income housing tax credit partnership to help finance the project.
"UnitedHealthcare's investment in SEVEN04 Place is part of a company initiative to help people live healthier lives by connecting quality and affordable housing to better health," said Ellen Sexton, CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Wisconsin.
SEVEN04 Place will comprise apartments ranging from one, two and three bedrooms. The complex will contain 46 units of affordable housing, with 14 of the units set aside for military veterans and adults with barriers to stable housing.
The building is set to open in early 2019, and is one of several investments UnitedHealthcare is making into affordable housing across Wisconsin and the Great Lakes region.
