Spartanburg (S.C.) Regional Healthcare System and Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare have agreed to a two-year contract to keep all SRHS hospitals and physicians in UnitedHealthcare's network, effective Oct. 15.
The agreement will ensure all SRHS hospitals and physicians are considered in-network for the insurer's commercial and Medicare Advantage health plans. The agreement ensures services won't be interrupted for patients enrolled in UnitedHealthcare's employer-sponsored plans, according to the article.
The new contract includes 350 physicians in the Medical Group of the Carolinas, all four SRHS hospitals and Union, S.C.-based EllenSagarSkilledNursingCenter. The contract also establishes a new agreement between the parties for Medicare Advantage plans.
