Poll: 28% of medical groups don’t know portion of commercial contracts tied to Medicare Part B payments

A new Medical Group Management Association Stat poll surveyed medical groups regarding the percentage of their commercial contracts tied to Medicare Part B payments.

The Sept. 26 poll included approximately 700 responses. Thirty-one percent of respondents indicated up to 25 percent of their commercial contracts are tied to Medicare Part B payments, while 28 percent were “unsure.”

Additionally, the poll found 17 percent of respondents indicated 76 percent or more of their commercial contracts are tied to Medicare Part B payments. Eleven percent of respondents said 51 to 75 percent, and 13 percent said 26 to 50 percent.
