Humana to offer older employees early retirement

Louisville, Ky.-based Humana rolled out a voluntary early retirement program for employees age 55 or older, Louisville Business First reports.

Eligible employees must have completed at least five years of service and have a combined age and years of service totaling at least 65 years.

Humana said the voluntary retirement program is preparation "for 2018 and to further position the company for a strong long-term future."

Sources familiar with the policy told Louisville Business First up to 20 percent of eligible employees are anticipated to retire early. Humana did not specify the number of employees who would be eligible.
