The contract comes after months of negotiations regarding a reimbursement increase. The two organizations failed to reach an agreement by the initial Feb. 28 deadline, resulting in a 120-day extension period scheduled to end June 28.

“Over the next year, BCBSOK and OU Health will work to define a new, long-term contract that reflects the quality and value of OU Health as a newly integrated clinic and hospital system and its services to BCBSOK members,” the statement said.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
