Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare signed an in-network agreement with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois Nov. 22.
Under the new contract, all OSF HealthCare hospitals and services will maintain in-network status for BCBS members in 2018. The agreement comes after OSF HealthCare announced in October nearly all hospitals affiliated with its system would be out-of-network with BCBS' preferred provider organization by Jan. 1.
Of the new contract, Randy Billings, OSF HealthCare senior vice president of population health, said, "We are pleased to have finalized a continuation of OSF Healthcare's relationship with BCBSIL that ensures patients and families have in-network access to the treatments and services they need. We realize this situation caused concern for our patients and families, and appreciate the support and patience of local businesses and community leaders."
