Oscar decided to transfer its New York City operations to Tempe in October 2016. The move came after the New York City-based payer announced it would expand operations into Tempe. The expanded Arizona facility, which Oscar plans to move into in 2019, will act as Oscar’s main point for sales and member services.
In June 2018, Oscar filed plans to offer individual marketplace coverage in six new markets next year, bringing its total expansion to nine states and 14 markets in 2019, the company said June 21. Three of the additional markets will be in new states for the insurer: Florida, Arizona and Michigan. The other three markets are in large metro areas in Ohio, Tennessee and Texas.
