The joint venture, announced Aug. 19, will be named AMH Health. MaineHealth and Anthem hope seniors in Maine will sign up for the program during the annual enrollment period this fall.

The organizations noted Medicare Advantage plans have been growing in popularity since consumers could first enroll in them in 2005. A growing demographic of Americans age 65 and older is contributing to the trend.
