Ellenville (N.Y.) RegionalHospital, an affiliate of HealthAlliance of the HudsonValley in Kingston, N.Y., has confirmed the hospital is an in-network facility for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield policy holders, reports Daily Freeman.
HealthAlliance and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield were unable to reach a new agreement before their existing contract expired May 31. The insurer sent letters to affected members notifying them HealthAlliance hospitals in Kingston may begin charging more expensive rates.
However, Ellenville Regional, located about 30 miles away from Kingston, remains an in-network facility for Empire BCBS members.
"While we were disappointed Ellenville was not mentioned as an alternative in the Blue Cross letter to members, we are on their website as a contracted hospital," Ellenville Regional President and CEO Steven Kelley told Daily Freeman. "We maintain great relationships with HealthAlliance and Blue Cross and hope for a timely, satisfactory resolution to their contractual issue."
