Cleveland Clinic, CareSource may end contract

Cleveland Clinic said CareSource, a Dayton, Ohio-based Medicaid managed care plan, may end its in-network relationship with the clinic, according to a cleveland.com report.

Cleveland Clinic said the payer, which serves about 1.3 million Medicaid members in Ohio, sent a notice to the clinic regarding its possible decision. When the agreement could end and the number of patients that could be affected by the transition was not disclosed.

In a statement to cleveland.com, CareSource said it hopes "contract negotiations have not ended and we're open to continued dialogue," with Cleveland Clinic. The payer has networked with the clinic since 2001.

Cleveland Clinic said it "will work with CareSource to provide continuity of care" for any affected patients, the report states.
