UnitedHealthcare will invest $14.6 million in a 60-unit mixed-income project in Oak Park. For the project, Troy, Mich.-based Community Housing Network will construct a former school into 20 apartments and build eight townhouse complexes containing 40 units on the former school’s campus.
Of the 60 units, 21 will be designated as “supportive” housing for tenants requiring on-site counseling and social services, the report states. The complex is slated to be complete in 2018.
The payer will also infuse $3.7 million in the 24-unit Hart-based Woodland Place Apartments. Twelve of the complex’s units will be used for homeless individuals and those with specials needs.
